Sec. Dizon Promotes Renewable Energy

by Andres Bonifacio

LAOAG City, Philippines—In a press conference with secondary campus journalists, Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Vicencio Dizon highlights the importance of using renewable energy especially in Ilocos Norte.

According to Dizon, Ilocos Norte is a part of the top 10 highest paying-province of electricity in the Philippines. With the increasing rate of electricity bills a deep-rooted solution is urgently needed.

“Other provinces have already adapted to using renewable energy,” he said in a press conference.

This highlights the need to transition for renewable energy, specifically in the times where conventional electricity is failing. This stepping stone process is a critical step for the province, as it ensures that renewable energy will be a solution to this ongoing problem.

For now, Ilocos Norte stands at a threshold between grief and recovery. With consistent support and sustained awareness, Secretary Dizon believes that the growing issue can still be addressed and eventually overcome.
