For the crowd packed into the DWCL Covered Court, the dramatic championship game was the ultimate display of the “Never Say Die” spirit against their formidable rivals, the Dodgers. This was more than a championship—it was a cultural moment.

The LA’s victory was personified by the heroics of Avron King De Luna, the great king whose presence amplified the belief that he was destined to deliver the title. His signature power and unwavering focus defined the team’s relentless attack and provided the crucial momentum swing.

As a kid, Avron did not grow up dreaming of the volleyball court. Unexpectedly recruited by his grade 9 high school coach at a random tryout for his astonishing serves, Avron initially struggled with the sport’s finesse, finding himself analyzing his mechanics like an engineer rather than relying on natural talent. He meticulously studied his approach and timing, integrating his balance and spatial awareness to develop his signature, service aces.

Avron’s story is one of engineered success—a testament to how relentless study and the strategic application of diverse skills can turn a reluctant recruit into a masterful, analytical player who consistently overcomes expectations.

Though often overlooked, De Luna and his team earned the award through sheer, unsung effort. They tanked spike with strong blocks, relentlessly defying the Dodgers’ top hitters, digging up impossible attacks, and embodying the quiet, grueling hard work put into the tournament. The collective roar of the fans served as the final, decisive character, turning a tense series into a joyous, cathartic coronation. The victory ensures the Lady Eagles’ hard-earned title is written not just in box scores, but in the enduring history of Volleyball sports lore, cementing their place as the team that always fought back.
